Do I Pay Commission As A Buyer?

The quick answer is no, but it depends!

Typically, when we purchase a home the seller of that home pays the commissions for both the selling and buying agents. This makes up 99% of transactions in Ontario.

When could you pay?

• property found "off market" not on the public MLS
• sellers are not offering a commission to the buying agent

In both these cases the goal is to purchase the home UNDER market value to make up for the commission to us. This is a rare occurance.
